Description

EYA proposes to develop the vacant Casey 6 and 7 properties, located at the northwestern intersection of Crabbs Branch Way and Shady Grove Road, into residential and office development. Both properties have wetlands, streams, and I-370 bisects both vacant parcels. Crabbs Branch Way will extend from its current terminus through both sites and continue to Amity Drive.

Developed under I-3 zone mixed use option, townhouses and condos will developed on Casey 7, which is west of the Grove Shopping Center. Casey 6, which is divided by a stream and wetlands, will be developed with offices.

Maryland State Highway (SHA) desires to use either a portion of either property for the ICC Western Maintenance Facility. This facility will consist of salt dome, offices for state police and toll collector and associated parking. The Parks Department is exploring acquiring the rear portion of Casey 6 for a local park in lieu of the office development.

Phase I consisted of extending Crabbs Branch Way from its current terminus to stream crossing on Casey 6, while Phase II will include residential and non-residential development on both properties.
