  • Amendment to the Master Plan for Historic PreservationThe Falkland Apartments (1936-38) has now been designated as a Historic site by the Planning Board in March 2009, after being the subject of an Amendment to the Master Plan for Historic Preservation. The Planning Board evaluated this resource on September 4, 2008 following a July 10 public hearing. The Planning Board’s recommendation was transmitted to the County Executive and County Council on November 26, 2008.
  • Historic Preservation Design GuidelinesHistoric preservation design guidelines are available to assist owners of historic properties in the development of their project plans.
  • Wild Acres (Grosvenor Estate), 5400 Grosvenor Lane, Bethesda (#30/15), has been designated as a Historic Site by the Planning Board, after being the subject of an Amendment to the Master Plan for Historic Preservation. The Planning Board evaluated this resource and recommends in favor of desgnation. This recommendation was transmitted to the County Executive and County Council on September 12, 2008.
  • As we begin work on our 2009-2011 Growth Policy recommendations, the Planning Board has launched a new speaker series to address how to encourage respect of the natural environment in the design of buildings, spaces and streets to create great places with better connections.
