Historic Preservation Commission: Public Hearing and Worksession
The Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) held a public hearing and worksession on Wednesday, December 5 to evaluate the historic and architectural significance of the listed resources.
The decision whether or not to place a resource on the Master Plan is based on criteria set forth in the Preservation Ordinance, Chapter 24A-3 of the Montgomery County Code. If, after review by the Planning Board, County Executive, and County Council, your property is ultimately included in the Master Plan, then major exterior changes must be reviewed by the HPC through the HAWP process.
Owners of designated historic sites may also benefit from state and county tax credits for repair or restoration of designated properties. Montgomery County's Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) was created by the Historic Preservation Ordinance. Members are appointed by the County Executive.
