MVMatters Community Meeting
Thank you to all who attended MVMatters! Since December, staff has collected many concerns, ideas and thoughts on the future of Montgomery Village. Our outreach efforts included graffiti boards, community meetings, and much more, so thank you for telling us what matters most to the future of your Village. MVPlan has presented staff recommendations to the community on July 7, 2015. Next steps include presentation of the working draft [PDF] to the Planning Board on July 23, 2015, and public hearing scheduled on September 10, 2015.
What is MVMatters?
MVMatters is a series of outreach [PDF] events to engage the community in the Master Plan. Planners have heard what residents view as the most valuable places in the Village, what matters most to the (re)development in the Village. Each evening began with a status update for the Master Plan and continued with discussion from one or more of the following topics: residential, commercial center and the former golf course zoning options, open space, connectivity and a proposed overlay zone for Montgomery Village. Breakout groups were utilized to discuss and brainstorm the preliminary options from staff regarding recommendations for the future of the Village.

Montgomery Village Master Plan Planning Board Draft
- On March 16, 2016, the Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission adopted the Montgomery Village Master Plan.
- On February 25, 2016, the Planning Board voted to adopt the Montgomery Village Master Plan. To review the staff report and recommendation, please click here.
- The County Council approved, by a 9-0 vote, the Montgomery Village Master Plan. To view draft resolutions, please click here (5A and 5B).
- The Montgomery County Council worksession on the Montgomery Village Master Plan was held February 2, 2016. - On October 22, 2015, the Planning Board unanimously voted to transmit the Planning Board Draft [PDF] Montgomery Village Master Plan and its accompanying overlay zone text amendment [PDF] to the County Council.

Past news
- On April 7, 2016, the Planning Board voted unanimously supported the filing of the Montgomery Village Sectional Map Amendment (SMA). The SMA is a request to amend the Montgomery County Official Zoning Map in order to implement the zoning recommendations in the Montgomery Village Master Plan. - The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission unanimously adopted the Montgomery Village Master Plan on March 16, 2016.
- With a 9-0 vote, the County Council approved the Montgomery Village Master Plan on February 9, 2016. Click here for the agenda. For more information on the approval, please click here.

Like it, Love it, Change it!
Like it, Love It, Change It is a tool in which Montgomery County Staff is engaging the citizens who live, work and play in Montgomery Village to identify what is Montgomery Village. Is it the open space? Is it the way the streets are laid out? To further the vision of the master plan efforts, we are asking everyone to define what is liked and loved about Montgomery Village and to define in their eyes what is your town. Staff would also like to know what needs changed, and perhaps an example given to say “this is what we want place X to look like.”
